Leave & Absence

In all cases of absence the parent / guardian is expected to make an entry in pupil's calendar on the appropriate page, marked "Non-Attendance and Leave Record."

Absence of three days or more on medical grounds is to be confirmed by a medical certificate an it should be submitted to the Principal along with a leave application.

A pupil who is absent for Unit Tests will not be retested. Absence from a subject excludes a student from being reckoned in the order of merit in the examination. Under no condition will written test/exam be taken orally.

THE ANSWER PAPERS OF THE FINAL EXAMS ARE NOT SHOWN. IF the need arises then the Principal and the administrator will probe the matter and their findings and decision will be final. Such matters should be brought up for consideration within a fortnight of the distribution of Report Cards and not later.

N.B. : Only a medical Certificate duly signed by a registered medical practitioner will be accepted.

Pupils returning after absence caused by an infectious disease must ensure that the quarantine period has been completed and this fact must be recorded on the Medical Certificate.

No student who is late or has been absent on the previous day may be permitted to attend the class without the permission of Principal. Absence must be explained in a note in the school diary signed by the parent or local guardian. Failure to do so may result in the student being sent back home.

All students are expected to attend class on the closing day before and also on the opening day after each vacation and new Academic session. The names of those children who fail to do so or who do not return within 10 working days of the reopening after each vacation are liable to be automatically removed from the rolls inspite of having paid all dues if no written application was handed in. However, if a child is to be absent for some valid reason pertaining to illness/ bereavement in the family, family function, then an application should be sent to the office. In case of serious illness a medical certificate should be attached to the application.
